Growing up on a farm in Jones County, Donna Rush was blessed to enjoy fresh homegrown food and nutritious meals which led to a lifetime love of cooking.

During her 25 years as a home health physical therapist, Donna saw the need for heat and serve home cooked prepared meals.  These firsthand experiences sparked her vision for Meals with Purpose.

In the fall of 2020 Donna shared this vision with me when we had the opportunity to work together for a friend’s rehearsal supper.  We like to say that a God given friendship was born over cheesecake!

The following years many conversations were had about location, equipment, and so much more.  Colley and I were excited to help however we could and cheer Donna and George on as they launched Meals with Purpose.

Meals with Purpose was launched in fall of 2021 and proved to be very successful in a short time.  What was thought to be a simple retirement business quickly grew much bigger than they anticipated, and God lead them to talk with us about possibly purchasing.

In May of 2022 our families aligned, and plans were made. Colley’s passion for cooking, culinary education, years of experience in the industry, as well as my experience in event management, retail management, and sales and marketing create the perfect combination of skills needed to continue and grow the vision that God gave Donna those years ago.  Additionally, Meals with Purpose perfectly pairs with the dreams and visions we have had for Colley’s Catering.

UPDATE

In October of 2022 after several months of great business, Colley fell ill and was diagnosed with cancer.  We closed the store and mourned the loss as we started down a path that none of us wanted to journey.

In January of 2023 the Lord saw fit to allow us the opportunity to serve once more.  Colley was able to tolerate the treatments enough to open back up on an abbreviated schedule with an abbreviated menu.  What a blessing it was and is to be allowed to continue to serve our community.

As we continue to grow, learn, and adapt we hope to have you walk this journey with us and allow us to serve you food prepared with love and you in mind.  We have never been more humbled and thankful to serve!
